Questions people ask

Can I get a mortgage soon after aliyah?

Yes. Banks look at your income and history wherever you earned it. A short Israeli work history makes the file harder, not impossible, which is why presenting it well matters.

What purchase tax benefit do olim get?

Olim pay reduced purchase tax on one home bought from a year before aliyah up to seven years after it. The saving depends on the price; our purchase tax guide has the detail.

What is a mashkanta zakaut?

A government-backed loan for eligible buyers, including many olim. It covers only part of the mortgage, and the adviser checks whether it is worth using alongside your bank offer.

What does it cost?

Asking us and being introduced costs you nothing. Mortgage advisers in Israel are paid by you, not by the bank, so agree their fee in writing before they start. Before any introduction we tell you in writing whether we receive a referral fee.
